Course Title: Interview an Innovator
Organization: Global Innovators Academy
Dates: 2 months (March 1 2021 – April 30 2021)
Supports: USD 20 per month for communications
The Global Education Movement (GEM) has partnered with Global Innovators Academy (GIA) to offer 30 GEM students/graduates an opportunity to enroll in GIA’s Interview an Innovator Program. During the two month course, students will learn how to conduct informational interviews and write articles to be published online. Examples of articles by students who have gone through this course can be found at this link.
As a result of the experience, students gain inspiration about careers, learn critical digital communications skills, spark their own ideas about innovation, enhance their professional networks and become more marketable. More information is at this link.

– Margret, based in Kenya, interviewed a fellow refugee who produced an award-winning film that tackled the issue of female genital mutilation. Story here.

– Gilbert, based in Rwanda, wrote about the moving story of Jean D’Amour Mutoni, co-founder of a Rwandan-based social enterprise that tackles youth unemployment. Story here.

-Students will be guided through the course by GIA founder, Kevin Anselmo.
-The course is entirely virtual and students will need access to the internet and a laptop to complete the program. Students will be provided a USD 20 monthly stipend for internet access.
Applicants should be SNHU GEM students or graduates. Preference will be given to applicants studying or having an interest in communications.
-Interest in communications, social media, networking and marketing
-Interest in education and entrepreneurship
-Strong written English skills
-Ability to work independently
-Strong interpersonal communication skills
-Experience with conducting interviews is an advantage
-Experience with writing blogs or articles is an advantage
