JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 

JOB TITLE: Grants Writer Intern 

TYPE: Internship 

LOCATION: Kigali 

REPORT TO: Programs manager 

INTRODUCTION:

Rwanda Women community development Network (RWN) is a national humanitarian non governmental organisation (NGO) focusing on empowering women for self-transformation and  gender equality for over 20 years.  

Our vision is to create a healthy, empowered, and peaceful Rwandan society.  Rwanda Women’s Network mission is to work towards improvement of the socio-economic  welfare of women in Rwanda through enhancing their efforts to meet their basic needs. Its  mission is delivered through five key focus programs: Health care and support, Education and  knowledge sharing, Socio-economic empowerment, Gender Based Violence prevention and  response, and Governance and leadership.  

Position description:

RWANDA WOMEN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NETWORK(RWN) 

www.rwandawomennetwork.org KG 504 St,Kagugu,Kigali The grants writing intern will have the responsibility to research, prepare and submit proposals  

for funding of the organization’s projects. The position requires a high level of commitment to  excellence. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Research, prepare, and submit proposals for funding, 

Follow all requirements and deadlines for grant applications, 

Maintain a grants calendar to monitor progress, 

Communicate with potential donors and institutional donors when necessary Identify new funding opportunities, 

COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT: 

Drafting and reviewing concept notes of activities 

Assist in developing stories for change for RWN newsletter or social media, Develop business plans or other business related documents for the cooperatives of  RWN’s beneficiaries. 

Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies for the  organization. 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES 

Education – At least a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and communications or a relevant  subject, or at least 6 months into the final year of the relevant course. 

Languages – Full professional proficiency in English.
