Vacancy: (Social Media) Communications Internship

Delphy has registered a local company with an office located in the city of Kigali: Delphy  Rwanda Ltd. 

Delphy is currently leading a Sustainable Development Goals Partnership Project “Increased  Potato Value Chain Efficiency in the Great Lakes Region”. This 4-year project is designed to  create a connected and efficient (Irish) seed and ware potato value chain in Rwanda. For  now, the Rwandan potato value chain suffers from inefficiencies, diverging interests from key  stakeholders and weak linkage between the seed and potato value chain. The project aims  to contribute by strengthening the value chain; the market dynamics; and the government’s  quest for a food secure Rwanda, together with local and international private and public  partners. 

The Project has started with implementation, this includes farmer visits, field preparation work  & farming training. We want to report on our activities and are therefore looking for an intern. 

About the position 

We are looking for a (Social Media) Communications intern that can assist us in: Setting up a communications plan; 

Development of communications tools/setting up social media account(s); Providing newsletters to partners and other interested parties; 

Content creation for various media outlets; 

Monitoring social media interaction in a professional manner. 

There will be a budget available for the implementation of the communications plan. This position is for 4-5 days per week with a combination of working at the office, working from home and field assignments. The duration of the internship contract is 6 months.

Who we are looking for 

You have a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field or you are in  the final year of your studies. Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English speaking and writing is  required. We consider it a plus if you have any photography skills. In depth knowledge of  Agriculture is not needed.
