Development and Communications Associate

Kepler is looking to add a Development and Communications Associate to the organization that will support the CEO and Director of Partnerships in fundraising tasks and also assist the Kepler management team with select administrative tasks. Prospect research and fundraising is a critical element of Kepler’s next stages of growth, and we are looking in particular for a poised, dynamic individual who can research and target key philanthropic opportunities; develop winning grant proposals and effective grant reports;  improve our CRM systems; engage with funders and other actors on both a strategic and interpersonal level; and help further develop Kepler’s communications capacities.

Course Facilitator

The Kepler Course Facilitator position is one of the most essential positions in the organization, other than the student, to help Kepler fulfill its vision to innovate higher education through a dynamic blended-learning model. The Course Facilitator  is the first point of contact to support students’ learning and growth. The role includes developing structured lessons, adapting curriculum to best meet student needs, analyzing and utilizing data to support diverse learners and collaborating with colleagues to holistically develop and support all students at Kepler.

Controller

The controller is a new role on the Kepler accounting team. The function is open to candidates looking for employment, consulting opportunities or to an accounting firm. The person in this role oversees the day-to-day financial management of the organisation (which currently operates in two locations in Rwanda as well as having a presence in the USA), general ledger activity, the month-end closing process, student finance operations and reporting, revenue recognition, financial reporting, cash management, and grant compliance. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, supervises the Finance Team, and involves significant interaction with the other members of management as well as the Registrar.  This position is also responsible for coordinating the annual statutory audit, donor audits and tax filing obligations in Rwanda and the US. The position will be based in Kigali, Rwanda.
